Full Moon in Aquarius

EDT: Wed. Aug 9, 2006, at 6:55 am
The Full Moon will be in Aquarius on August 9th at 6:54 am, EST. On the spiritual level, Aquarius is the Humanit- arian, the sign that understands our connections with one another, regardless or race, gender, culture or religion. Aquarius came in with the understanding that we’re all connected.

Quantum physicists have stated that if a butterfly flaps it’s wings in South Africa, we would feel the wave here on the East Coast of America. Is that too far a stretch for you? Well, one thing I know, with all the killing going on in other parts of the world, sensitive people are picking up the pain, feeling irritable, are overly tired and overly sensitive. That’s because, if there’s suffering anywhere on the planet, we can feel it. I urge you to speak a prayer, pray for the innocent people who are being slaughtered on this planet.

Think you are innocent too? Think you have nothing to do with it? Well, think again. I distinctly remember my teacher saying that at this time on the planet .... “there are none innocent”. But you didn’t make the decision to kill people, that was our leaders...ummm, duh! Did you vote last time? Or ever?

You may think you can just slide through this period selfishly thinking about your own needs, or the needs of those closest to you...I’m here to tell you, you can’t do it, without doing harm to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.

So, stay apathetic. Be non-caring if you want. The damage you’re doing to your own body will eventually tell the tale. At least you could stimulate the healing by set-ting aside a time each day to pray for peace on earth, or pray at night. The angels are calling us to help and the choice is yours.

The Full Moon will join Neptune in Aquarius... your individual and collective powers of imagination will increase. Pay attention to the images that come to you day and night. Can you be of help to those in need? Maybe even one person, a neighbor, a friend? Reaching out of yourself is not only helpful to the giver but the receiver as well.

Sensitive people are feeling a build up of energy as the Full Moon and Neptune, reach an opposition to the Sun and Saturn. No telling how this is going to affect our already out-of-control weather. But you can see the extremes in the opposition, a 180-degree turn around. It’s time to be in constant prayer...or duck! (hahahaha)

Seriously though, the only way I know how to get through this period myself is by acting on my beliefs and praying in a consistent manner. Hopefully you’ll do the same.

Love & Light, Ayesha

New Moon in Virgo
EDT: Wed. Aug 23, 2006, at 3:10 pm
Wednesday, August 23 at 3:10 pm, the Sun and Moon will connect in Virgo, the sign that says “I Analyze”, or “I Criticize”. The New Moon in Virgo is an excellent time to write down your goals for the future, or edit and make corrections on past goals. Writing lists, keeping schedules is a typical Virgo habit, so you might find this task enjoyable as you fine tune the things you most want to accomplish in your life.

Virgo is the first sign of service, with Pisces being the second. Spiritual students should make sure that service is a part of your goals, and keep in mind that service to others is a high ideal. When you think of service first and ego last, you’ll find that whatever it is you intend to do with your life, service can be an integral part of it. In fact many people get into karmic situations on the path, when they put ego before service. Whether your desire is to become a healer in the medical tradition or in the alternative fields, or whether you’ve decided to use creative talents, singing, music, dance, playing an instrument, acting, if you think in terms of service to others, that will help you to make the correct choices when it’s time to sign on the dotted line.

A car mechanic once asked me how could he incorporate service into his profession. I told him that indeed he was in a service profession as his ability to repair cars was an admirable service to others. It’s what’s in your mind that counts and no matter what you do, if it’s typing, data entry, or emptying waste baskets you can still think of yourself as being in service to others. With the natural humility of Virgo, we can improve our lives and stay away from the traps that an inflated ego brings. Throughout the New Moon period, practice humility and service. A welcoming smile to everyone who crosses your path can be a true act of service. Spreading cheer and joy to others, even when they have a serious frown, or even if they don’t return the compliment can lift your spirits and increase your joy.

Mars the action planet will be in Virgo until Sept. 8th, it is also forming an opposition to Uranus, the unpredictable one, in Pisces. Sensitive people may be feeling extra nervous energy that affects their sleep patterns. This is a good time to practice staying in the moment, and to slow down your thinking processes, with deep breathing. Be here now, regardless of what else is going on in your life. Stop and breathe deeply before answering any critical remarks or unwanted comments from others. You are the only thinker in your body and you have control on how you will react or refuse to react to the words of others. Soooo, don’t “go there” when something isn’t going your way, or you hear something that is potentially upsetting to your spirit. Practice unconditional love in all encounters with family, friends or co-workers/ bosses. This will make you stronger and in full control of life. Nobody can push your buttons if you’ve eliminated the usual reactions to spoken words.

Case in point...last week I cut off all my hair. I had my reasons, I’m in water so much, combing and braiding, washing and conditioning long hair had gotten to be a chore. So I eliminated one time consuming chore from my life. One old busy body in my neighborhood saw me for the first time since cutting my hair. She frowned and spouted “why did you cut off all your hair it was so beautiful” I took a deep breath, smoothed my hand over my head and said “Thank you for sharing, I love it”. I left her there shocked and stunned that I didn’t hit back. Now, I had to practice getting to where I am today, cause it didn’t come naturally (smile).

The point is, I’m no longer living a life where I need approval from anyone for anything. But it took time, lots of practice in loving myself, reading Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and, of course, Maya Angelou. I’ve learned through the years to take my teacher’s advice...
”never cop to praise or criticism, but just stay comfortably balanced in knowing and loving yourself”. (Isabel M. Hickey)

Enjoy this New Moon period. Next month there will be a Full Moon and New Moon eclipse and of course, more spiritual work to do.
