March 1, 2006 : There will be two eclipses this month. The Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo on the 14th at 6:48 pm est. and a Total Eclipse of the Sun in Aries on the 29th at 5:33 am est.
FULL MOON ECLIPSE IN VIRGO
Starting with the Full Moon (Lunar) Eclipse in Virgo on the 14th, this is a good time for prayer, meditation and to pay attention to your body. Virgo is the sign of health and diet, with the keywords “I Analyze”. For two days before the eclipse and one day after you could also watch the tendency to criticize or judge others. Deepak
Chopra once said that the habit of criticism and judgment is so strong in our consciousness that we have difficulty eating an ice cream cone without judging if it was as good as the last one or better than the last one. Our monkey minds just seem to have a tendency to be judgmental. So on this period, which intensifies by
the eclipse, practice being in the moment, don’t let your mind take you “there”. In other words, be here now, not in the dead past or imaginary future. For those who don’t know the eclipse happens when the Sun, Moon and Earth are in complete alignment, therefore the Earth’s shadow blocks out the light from the Sun and the Moon becomes dark. Since this eclipse will not be exact in North America it is called a partial eclipse. Still the energy of the full moon will intensify. Also, Mercury will be retrograde...(see article).
Now these cosmic phenomenon are welcomed by people who work with the energies. For one thing, knowing it’s a Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo, gives you a heads up on those who don’t know. When I started observing these things I became the witness of it rather than allowing myself to be used by it. I also always intensified by spiritual practices during these periods, and you can too. You can be the
peacemaker at work, refusing to get involved in gossip and trivia, but quietly sending Light to all involved. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
NEW MOON ECLIPSE (SOLAR) IN ARIES
The Solar Eclipse in Aries, simply means the Moon will temporarily block the Light from the Sun. This will be a total eclipse so you might say the energies will be more intense than the partial eclipse of the Moon. And I say “whatever”. Before you became interested in these things they were happening and you managed to get through it, and you’ll get through this one too. (smile) The good news is this is an excellent time to write down your goals and to focus on them. The effects of this eclipse will be six months so ask yourself what do you want to happen in that period? Someone once described the eclipse as a photographer taking a picture that doesn’t get developed until later. Well, kinda, sorta. You can set your goals and intentions on this Solar Eclipse and watch how they unfold in the next six month period. The 29th is a Master Number...when you add the two together it turns out to be 11. So, two days before and one day after this event, be on your best behavior (smile) meaning be patient with others and don’t allow yourself to be distracted with nonsense. This period allows the golden opportunity to clearly focus on your goals.
If the doom and gloom astrologers are correct, you might hear news that shocks your system. The reason why I don’t like to make doom and gloom predictions is because you’re sending out the energy and they become self fulfilling prophecies. In other words because of their lack of wisdom they are creating these things.
Since we were the first astrologers and we know the power of the spoken word we
send out helpful healing thoughts into the atmosphere to create something positive to come back to us. What we must understand is that we’re in control of it and it’s time for us to step up and be the spiritual wise ones. So many times I’ve argued with other astrologers who were speaking words of doom and gloom...if you
really think something bad is going to happen, you’re creating it in your mind and it will happen. But conversely, if you call for something good to happen that’s exactly what will be true in your experience. Other astrologers have cynically called me “lucky”. I’m not lucky, cause there’s no such thing as good luck, bad luck. I am always seeking to take it higher and have found out that what you keep in your mind will come back to you. That’s a spiritual law, that’s the law of physics too. In Quantum Physics, the dot becomes the wave only after you focus on it, observe it. It’s so simple. Think what you want, but want what you think. If you’re facing a challenge now, think in terms of a solution, regardless of what else is going on in your life. There is a solution to everything.
So use this New Moon in Aries Eclipse to your advantage. Go on a news fast, refusing to concentrate on the evils in the world. Guess what, they’ll be there when you get back (laughing). If you are aware of something that makes you feel impassioned, then ask yourself “what am I supposed to do about this?” Instead of just talking about it to some sympathetic friend and dissipating the energies I might add, seriously ask your angels what are you supposed to do about it?
On one Full Moon in Scorpio, six children were arrested and charged with the rape of a woman in Central Park. That messed with my mind. When I saw their faces on the front page of the Sunday Paper, I almost fainted. I went home, got in the bed, cried and wailed. When I woke up I went to my altar and asked “what am I supposed to do about this”. I was sure another legal lynching was taking place. The face of a friend came clearly into my mind. I picked up the phone and called her...her first words “I want you to know that these children are totally innocent and we need your help”.
Now, you might be busy in your own life, but we don’t live in a vacuum, if they lynch someone else’s son in the morning, they’ll come for yours at night. That’s a rough interpretation of what James Baldwin said to Angela Davis. Sometimes you do have to extend yourself to help others and the immediate positive side effect is that temporarily you’re not worrying about your problems.
