February 17, 2006 : Mars, the outgoing planet of action moved into Gemini on Feb. 17th, and will be there until April 14, 2006. For the past seven months Marshas been moving forwards and backwards (retrograde) in Taurus, and all those born in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius were feeling the increased energy to change their life’s circumstances. But, there seemed to be something holding us back, and that would be Saturn, planet of tests and discipline. Saturn went into Leo on the 17th of July for a two and a half year stay, ending Sept. 7, 2007. So while Mars was pushing for immediate change, Saturn was saying “stop, look and listen”.
This push pull energy required patience and belief in a Higher Power to get through these past seven months. Thankfully, many people reported to me that while it was rough going at times, they were able to tune into the universal whole, the Higher Power, their angels, seeking Divine guidance and managed to weather the cosmic storms without too much difficulty. There, that was easy wasn’t it? Well, I must confess there were times when I personally had to run to the waterfall and pray for assistance. Sometimes we need to just stop, look and listen and to ask if we’re doing the right thing. This was a time to be what we say we are...spiritual beings having a human experience. It was also time to recognize that our angels who’ve been there for us in the past, were going to be with us now. As with all tests we were given the opportunity to put into practice the things we’ve learned in the past.
So, for the fixed signs, we’ve learned more about our abilities to be in it but not of it, to practice forgiveness and letting go, and to focus diligently on our goals, in spite of whatever else was happening. And we’re better for the experience.
Now with Mars in Gemini, the mutable signs will experience six weeks (as opposed to seven months) of extra energy. Mutable signs are Gemini Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. With Sagittarius and Gemini, Saturn in Leo will be forming a sextile...a 60 degree angle that opens us up to opportunities. One catch. An opportunity doesn’t force us to do anything, and if we ignore it, it’s just there. My teacher used to say “you could sit a hungry man down at a table full of food and he’d starve himself to death if he didn’t have the courage to reach out”. Hmmm. Are you ready for the opportunities that you’ve been praying for?
Deepak Chopra says “what others call good luck is simply when preparedness meets opportunity” (I’m paraphrasing here, can’t find the book). Now Virgo and Pisces will be dealing with the square from Mars...that 90 degree angle that inspires us to get up an move. The caution here is the same...stop, look and listen before jumping to conclusions or rushing in where angels fear to tread.
You can accomplish a lot under the auspices of a Mars transit. For all mutable signs, although you might feel an urgency to get things done, please remember to do everything in moderation, pace yourself and take one step at a time. Remember to be good to your body, feeding it lots of water, green leafy veggies, and consistent exercise. Also try to get in the bed at a reasonable time, taking time out to rest.
For everyone...Mars is the planet of action, and Gemini is the sign of Communications, ruled by Mercury. So all of us will be inspired to communicate more, to talk more, to write more. Those of us who have writing projects...voila! Tune into the helpful energy from Mars in Gemini. Gemini is also the sign that rules the third house of communications, community and members of your close family are all found there. Soooo, some will be working on family reunions, attending meetings in your community, and some will be called upon to speak, lecture or conduct workshops. Now of course it’s all energy, and it has a positive and negative potential, depending on how you choose to use it. The negatives of Mars in Gemini are the tendency to gossip, to worry about trivia, to get engaged in arguments...I think of “hot words” when I think of Mars in Gemini. As opposed to “hot words” lets think in terms of “warm words” those words that come from a loving space.
When Mars was in Taurus it seemed, especially to the fixed signs that things were trudging along...the Bull carrying the heavy load and moving slowly down the path. Now with Mars in Gemini, the energy is lighter, we all become “chatty Kathy’s” trying to express our ideas as soon as the thoughts come into our mind. Gemini also ruled the lungs and respiratory systems, so we must be sure to take adequate amounts of Vitamin C, to drink more water and to rest when our body is tired. Colds and flu are the result of a lowered immune system...the body is literally crying out for a rest. While you might hear of some people succumbing to these ailments, you don’t have to be one of them. Hopefully you’ve gotten into the habit of saying “cancel, cancel”, when someone tries to convince you that “it’s going around”. I always think to myself “and I’m not going to get it”, regardless of what others might say. Yes, germs are out there, some of them airborne, but they can land on you and you can say “you’re not wanted here”...and it works.
I teach piano to young students. Last week three of them were coughing and sneezing, then touching the piano. I immediately put up my shield of Light around me, as sometimes I had to touch the piano to show them something. This would be a good time to get out the germaphobic mind set. Yes, it’s a good idea to wash your hands...but hope you know that those anti-bacterial formulas do more damage than good. They destroy the natural protection that God gave you and make you more vulnerable to disease. I’ve found that most people inadvertently call for a cold. They
look at the commercials warning about colds or flu. They witness others breaking down and then they accept in their minds that they’re going to be next. Think of it this way...if someone unwanted salesperson knocks at your door and you really don’t have the time to listen to their spiel, are you going to invite them in and serve them tea? Germs are out there, but you don’t have to call for them or let them in. Getting back to my
students...what I do is when I’m standing behind them while they’re playing the piano, I first put on my Robe of Light, then I put it around them also. So not only are they getting a piano lesson, they’re also getting a good dose of healing white Light (smile).
So enjoy the six weeks cycle of Mars in Gemini. Make it a productive time. Gemini is a dual sign, (The Twins), so you might be involved in two different projects or trying to accomplish two things at one time. You can do it. I’m expecting to hear good things from all of you.
Love & Light, Ayesha
