August,2006: It’s August, the Sun and Saturn are both in Leo, the sign of willpower and pride Mercury, planet of communications is going direct. As we look back on July, give thanks that you made it through the storms, fires, blackouts, floods and the overall wrath of Mother Nature. But Al Gore tells us in his movie “ An Inconvenient Truth” that this is just the beginning of a long cycle that will culminate in 2012.
Some of us got the message that if a disaster hits in our neighborhood, we’re going to have to depend on our own abilities to make it through. Have you educated yourself on how to survive when the power goes out? Do you know what to do if a smoky condition erupts in the subway? Can you walk 20 miles without having a heart attack? Do you know how to stay cool when the air conditioner doesn’t work?
On the 12th, Mercury slides back into Leo to join the Sun and Saturn. Be aware of power plays between the men who are controlling things. Also, be aware of how you use power, making sure you’re not being abusive to any human or any of God’s creatures.
Leo rules the heart and spine in the physical body, so be sure to treat those parts with care.
At the same time, Neptune, planet of faith or confusion, will be in Aquarius the sign of the humanitarian, forming an opposition. It’s time to act on what you believe, to put feet on your prayers. Walk your talk. It’s also a good time to check your friendship circles and to connect with people of like mind and consciousness.
Mars, the action planet will be in Virgo until Sept 8th, inspiring us to organize our lives, put paperwork in neat order, throw out what you no longer want or need.
Virgo is the health sign, ruling the sixth house of health, work and service. Check your diet, opt for good nutrition and a good work out. Try not to engage in trivia, gossip...in other words mind your business.
It’s Leo time, time to love and be loved. Time to understand that love is the greatest force in the universe. As we move through this month ask yourself “what would love do?” when you’re faced with making important decisions.
Looks like we’re in for an early fall with Mars in Virgo, so enjoy the last days of summer with the exuberance of a small child who’s expectant of good, because it’s all good.
