October 2007 :The following is an interpretation of Michael Vick’s Solar Chart, based on the day month and year of his birth. We decided to share this information when Michael the much loved quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons suddenly went from fame to infamy after being accused of financing a dog fighting ring. After two indictments were brought against him, Michael pled guilty to the crime of financing a dog fighting ring, but maintained his innocence in taking part in the killing of dogs. His sentencing will be sometime in December, 2007. It is interesting to note that the penalty for dog fighting in Atlanta , GA (where his first indictment took place) has been changed from a fine and a misdemeanor to a felony. This recent chain of events guarantees that Michael Vick will do jail time. Can we understand by viewing Michael Vick’s Solar Chart how his life could suddenly turn around from being loved and adored to being maligned and scorned? From being on top of the world, making millions from his talents to being maligned and scorned by almost every news channel on television? You be the judge.
When images of Michael Vick, dressed in a dark business suit came across my television screen, I ran to my computer and searched for his birth date: Wikipedia and the NFL site both gave June 26, 1980, Newport News , VA. What? Another Cancer? OJ, who is currently involved in yet another legal situation and Mike Tyson, who’s had his share of legal problems are also born under the sign of Cancer. All three of these men share the dubious distinction of once being loved and then being hated by most people in this country. OJ fell from grace after being acquitted of double murder and Tyson fell from grace when found guilty of rape but Michael Vick’s crimes against dogs brought out a rage that superseded crimes against people. Too bad Michael didn’t know how much Americans love their dogs. These deer hunting, duck hunting, quail hunting, meat eating people started calling for a legal lynching of Vick before he admitted financing friends for the crime of dog fighting. Vick’s so called friends copped a plea and agreed to testify against him.
SUN IN CANCER
Cruelty to animals is not an activity you’d expect coming from someone born under the sign of Cancer, the water sign with the keywords: “I Feel”. However, Cancer males often learn at a young age to disconnect from their sensitive feelings. They are usually encouraged to “be a man” in a world that says “big boys don’t cry”, or “stand up and take it like a man”. Michael Vick, with his winning smile and self confident mannerisms probably learned early in his life to keep his sensitive side hidden from view. Vick stated in an interview for the Newport News that when he was ten or eleven “I would go fishing even if the fish weren’t biting, just to get out of there”. He was referring to his early life growing up in the projects in Newport .
MOON IN SAGITTARIUS
But Michael has the Moon (his ruler) in Sagittarius, the sign that says “I Perceive” or “Yes I can”. Sagittarius is gifted on the athletic and musical level. There’s no doubt that Michael Vick displayed incredible talent for football at an early age. His father began teaching him the fundamentals of football when he was three years old. He was also taught by an older cousin (Aaron Brooks) who is a quarterback in the NFL. His mother put him in the Boys Club when he was young and coaches quickly discovered his talent for football. Vick told Sporting News magazine in an interview published April 9, 2001, “Sports kept me off the streets. It kept me from getting into what was going on, the bad stuff. Lots of guys I knew had bad problems”. As a 7 year old throwing three touchdown passes in a Boys Club league, his apparent football talents led coaches and his parents to keep a special watch over Vick. With Sagittarius Moon as his “lucky” star, Michael went on to college and eventually the NFL. In 2004, he, signed a mega ten year deal worth $130 Million, with a signing bonus of $37 Million Dollars with the Atlanta Falcons. Obviously Vick was considered to be a good investment to the owners of the Atlanta Falcons, a product that would generate even more millions to their corporation. So with all this good stuff going on for Michael how did he get caught up in a scandal that would surely end his career and get him some jail time? Well, as with all signs, Sagittarius has a flip side. Born with the Moon in Sagittarius, Michael is a natural risk taker, has a love for gambling/winning and obviously doesn’t know when to quit. We believe that he turned off his psychic sensitive side (Cancer) that might have warned him of the possibility that his illegal activities were being investigated. We also believe that he started to believe the hype. He thought of himself as untouchable while ignoring the lessons of what happened to two other Cancer born athletes…OJ and Tyson.
THE SATURN/MARS CONNECTION
On June 23, 1980, Saturn planet of discipline (and the law) and Mars, outgoing planet of action were both in the sign of Virgo within one degree of each other. In astrological terms this is called a conjunction, or planetary connection. While doing charts in Riker’s Island Prison, I was amazed to see how many inmates had the same connection between Saturn in Mars, either at birth or by transit. This conjunction can either be extremely positive or extremely negative, depending on how the individual decides to use it. It was Saturn/Mars in Virgo that we can point to that made Michael’s accuracy in throwing the football, legendary. To date he has thrown fewer interceptions than any other quarterback in the history of the game. The Virgo energy also defines his quick and intelligent decisions to run, rather than pass and to gain as much yardage in a given game as the players who are paid for their talent to gain yards. In 2006, Michael became the only quarterback in NFL history to run for over 1000 yards during a regular season. It’s an aspect that says “for every deed you shall be held accountable”. With Saturn (the law) holding down Mars (your actions), even if everyone else gets away with breaking the law, you can rest assured that eventually the Saturn Mars individual will get caught. It’s karma, the law of sowing and reaping that’s in effect here. On top of that, Michael is a Black man, hired to play a position that is still predominately held by white men. Even today in 2007 you can count the Black quarterbacks in the NFL on one hand. Given this fact one wonders if the federal investigation into Michael’s private life began when he became the highest paid football player in the NFL? Saturn/Mars in Virgo, which incidentally rules domesticated animals, dogs and cats, is forming an intense aspect to Vick’s Moon and Neptune in Sagittarius. When you ask yourself, what was he thinking when he financed “friends” for a dog fighting venture…we’d have to say, look at the square (tense angle) between Saturn/Mars in Virgo, and Moon/Neptune in Sagittarius. He wasn’t thinking, he was reacting. Could it be that the trauma of growing up in a violent world has turned this sensitive Cancerian into an insensitive killer of small animals?
Why would Michael Vick risk his whole career and millions of dollars to participate in a decadent sport like dog fighting? We looked further into his Solar chart for answers and saw yet another clue. North Node in Leo, South Node in Aquarius.
NORTH NODE IN LEO
SOUTH NODE IN AQUARIUS
The North and South Nodes in a chart are opposite one another. In Michael’s case he has the North Node in Leo, and the South Node in Aquarius. Ancient African astrologers believed that if the soul wasn’t traveling in the direction of the North Node, you could tear up the rest of the chart because it was useless. The North Node shows the direction the soul must travel this lifetime, the South Node shows the path that was taken in a previous lifetime. Michael’s South Node in Aquarius, the sign of friends may be one of the prime reasons he’s in trouble today. It’s interesting that early news reports on investigations regarding dog fighting, centered on Michael’s friends, who allegedly told it all. For the price of a lesser conviction they pointed the finger at the person who was obviously the target. Mind you, Michael was obviously generously supporting these people with housing and cash. In every case where the law was involved, it seemed that Michaels “homeys” were the cause. Interviews with coaches from Michael’s earlier years have stated that he was warned about the people around him. With South Node in Aquarius, he found the need to prove his loyalty to people who, when the chips were down, turned like rats running from a sinking ship. It has been reported that the idea of starting The Bad Newz Kennels, was a friends idea. Instead of accessing his North Node in Leo, the need to maintain his individuality he went for the South Node in Aquarius and fell victim to their beliefs. If Michael had listened to his inner voice of wisdom surely he would have heard…”to thine own self be true”, or “be your own best friend”. Until this conviction Michael had lived a life free of legal convictions. Basically, he’s a good guy who was stuck in the belief that you don’t change your circles once you rise to the top. Cancerians have a tendency to live in the past and are often slow to make new friends. So it was easier for Michael to put his trust in people he thought he knew, rather than risk reaching higher, to the unknown. If Michael had chosen to go the way of his North Node in Leo, he would have understood that everything thing must change, including your friendship circles. We do believe that Michael was using his North Node in Leo when he created a foundation to help inner city youth. He used his celebrity and his money to reach back to young people. Too little, too late? Right now his foundation is seemingly on hold as Michael deals with a myriad of legal problems. So as the press is having a field day, calling for a modern day lynching of one of the most talented men in football today, we’ll take a look at the transits in Michael Vick’s Solar Chart to see what’s in store for him.
WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW

As we previously stated, everything must change, and the planets are constantly in a state of motion and/or change. Saturn, planet of discipline, the law and karma has returned to Virgo, and in the next two year period will pass over Michael’s Saturn/Mars conjunction.
SATURN RETURNS
Ordinarily I would wager that Michael will probably get off with a fine and a year suspension from NFL. After all, he didn’t rape or kill anyone. While dog fighting is now a felony offense in Georgia and Virginia , the people who support Vick are quick to point out how judges have given leniency for other high profile people who’s crimes were against humans. Michael’s story was number one on most television channels while the story of a woman who did three months for shooting her husband in the back as he was sleeping became a mere mention by a sympathetic press. But Michael Vick is a Black man and if history repeats itself, he’s not getting off with a fine or a legal slap on the wrist. And if astrology is relevant, with Saturn planet of discipline and law returning to it’s place at birth, Michael is in for a bumpy ride. He might have been warned of the potential for his current legal problems back in 2001, when he financed the Bad Newz Kennels. As Saturn was forming an intense square (90 degree angle) to Saturn, Jupiter and Mars in Virgo. That’s astrological language that says “watch your back, keep everything above board and legal cause what you do now, you’ll pay the price for later, or in the Fall of 2007. Right now Saturn in Virgo has connected with Jupiter in Virgo in
Michael’s Solar Chart. Saturn is restriction, Jupiter is big money. The NFL has demanded $22 million dollars back from a signing bonus given to Vick. Two banks have filed laws suits against him for loan forfeitures, Nike and Air Tran have not renewed lucrative contracts with him. You might say that Michael’s financialstatus has been greatly lowered because of the bad publicity or because he’s paying the price of associating with the wrong people. On the spiritual level, Michael is paying up for choices made in the past. However, he can decide to make choices now that will sustain and support him in the future. Let’s keep in mind that Michael Vick is only 27 years old, and facing his first Saturn Return. The Saturn Return period which everyone faces between ages 27 – 30, is an excellent time to forgive the past and to start making choices that will help the individual live their best life. We’re guessing that Michael is thinking about his past choices and so-called friends. He’s made a deal with prosecutors to name people and/or organizations also involved in dog fighting. However, legal pundits are quick to remind us that the judge is not bound by the agreements he made with prosecutors. Michael has already made an apology to PETA, and agreed to make promos denouncing dog fighting. However, the next two year period is not going to be easy for Michael, as he’s probably going to do some time in prison. He’ll have a lot to think about during this next two year period. Saturn in Virgo forces us to deal with reality. It bursts the bubble of illusion. Michael will really “get it” what it means to be a Black man in this country. Rich or famous, doesn’t really matter when there are two sets of justice operating in this country. If he thought all those people who said they loved him, friends, corporations (NFL) fans, were in earnest, he’ll find out how fickle that love is, as they distance from him. “Nobody loves you when you’re down and out” will be his theme song. If you’re still wondering “what was he thinking”, keep in mind that he’s a Cancer who was reacting to the world around him. He wasn’t thinking, or listening to words of advice. He went past his rational mind and let his feelings lead him down the path from fame to infamy. He put friends (south node in Aquarius) above the fame (north node in Leo). He put his love of gambling and risk taking above good common sense.
MARS IN CANCER
As if things aren't dicey enough for Michael Vick, Mars, the outgoing planet of action, is in Cancer, and it will start a retrograde movement on Nov. 15th. This might be a delay in the proceedings, a postponement of the sentencing because of more evidence being presented by either side. For sure, with Mars in his Sun Sign, Michael is feeling the heat and probably very angry at the chain of events that brought him to where he is today. He could use this extra energy from Mars to work out and stay in good health. It was reported that Michael failed a drug test and has been on house arrest. It's advisable that he get involved in the case, as opposed to just turning everything over to legal counsel. He could learn from a fellow Cancerian, Mike Tyson, the danger of trusting the wrong people. Well, in actuality, that's what got him in trouble in the first place. Mars will retrograde (apparent backwards motion) back into Gemini at the beginning of 2008, and then will enter Cancer again in the spring.Michael could decide to change his legal counsel, or make a plea for more time to get his affairs in order. For sure, with Mars in Cancer now, deals are being made, hopefully in his behalf. He has to know that in spite of everything, he's still a talented and gifted young man and capable of using this experience as a hard lesson learned. If he would ask himself, "what am I learning in all of this?" and "how can I use this experience to help others?" , he'll be on the road to a complete transformation.
